How was your Valentine's day? As I told you some weeks ago I want to go to Austin. Last weekend it was the time. Because of the sunny weather we started in Zilker Park, a huge park on the Lady Bird Lake, where you can do a lot: boat renting, Botanical Garden, Sculpture Museum, running, jogging, biking, or just relaxing on the middle of the gras (what we did, of course).

After the park we went to the S Congress Avenue. The Cafe No Se was located in the very new and stylish South Congress Hotel. The room rate was priceless, but I wanted to get a Cava in the Cafe on the counter. 

Wie habt Ihr den Valentinstag verbracht? Vor einigen Wochen habe ich geschrieben, sehr bald ein Wochenende in Austin zu verbringen. Letztes Wochenende war es endlich soweit. Wegen der fruehlingshaften Temperaturen starteten wir im Zilker Park. Das ist ein grosser Park am Lady Bird See, mit vielen Moeglichkeiten: Bootsverleih, Botanischer Garten, Skulpturmuseum, Jogging- und Radstrecke, oder einfach Relaxen inmitten der Wiese (was wir natuerlich taten).

Danach hat es uns in die South Congress Avenue gezogen. Das Cafe No Se war im ganz neuen, sehr stylischen South Congress Hotel. Die Zimmer waren unbezahlbar, aber einen Cava an der Bar im Cafe wollte ich dann doch haben.

Pizza at The ABGB (Austin Beer Garden Brewery)

For dinner we went to the ABGB, the Austin Beer Garden Brewery. We eat at the ABGB every time we are in Austin, because they have a very delicious pizza, very thin, kross and big.

Zum Abendessen gingen wir in das The ABGB, Austin Bier Garten Brauerei. Wir essen im ABGB fast jedes Mal, wenn wir in Austin sind, weil sie eine sehr gute Pizza haben, sehr duenn, kross und gross.

Counter at Sawyer&Co. for Breakfast

The Sawyer&Co was more a coincidence. My dear husband found it. I loved the waiting area in the patio between plants and deck chairs and I loved the breakfast, especially the local "farm eggs".

Das Sawyer&Co war mehr ein Zufall. Mein lieber Ehemann fand es. Ich liebte den Wartebereich auf der Terrasse, zwischen Pflanzen und Liegestuehlen und ich liebte das Fruehstueck, besonders die Eier von lokalen Bauernhoefen.

Ice Cream at Dolce Neve 1st Street (Chocolate Pepper - so good and very spice in throat - and Hazelnut)

The ice cream in the 1st Street in my favorite ice cream shop was a must. I tried Chocolate-Pepper and it was so delicious, when you like it spicy:)

Die Eiscreme in der 1st Street in meinem Lieblings-Eisladen war ein Muss. Ich probierte Schokolade-Pfeffer und es war so gut, vorausgesetzt man mag scharfes:)  

Counter at Counter Cafe

The breakfast at the Counter Cafe exceeded my expectations on the next morning. It was narrow and almost crowded, but the breakfast was so delicious (again ingredients from local farmers and again, sorry, Jimmy, but this was so delicious).

Auch das Fruehstueck im Counter Cafe am naechsten Tag uebertraf meine Erwartungen. Es war sehr eng und fast ueberfuellt, aber das Fruehstueck war sehr sehr gut (wieder Zutaten von lokalen Farmern und wieder, sorry, Jimmy, aber das hier war richtig lecker).

Cocktail at Whisler's

Last but not least we had a cocktail at Whisler's. I liked the small, dark bar with stone walls and a nice selection of cocktails.

Zu guter Letzt hatten wir noch einen Cocktail im Whisler's. Ich mochte die kleine, dunkle Bar mit Steinwaenden und einer tollen Auswahl an Cocktails.
