Austin, here I come again! Soon! In February, as my birthday present! Austin is the Capitol of Texas. The first time I was there I thought I was in California, really! Austin is liberal and alternative. I love it just to walk and look at the people, the bars and restaurants, mainly around 1st Street and S Congress Avenue. My favorite place for breakfast is the 24 Diner, they have the best frittatas. We had to wait every time we were there for almost 1 hour to get a table. For snacks, drinks in the afternoon or dinner I like the South Congress Cafe. They have "real" prosecco - yes, it is not so easy to find prosecco in Texas - and a dinner menu with Quinoa. Of course, I didn't miss the culture highlights, like the State Capitol and the LBJ Presidential Library.  It is a 4 hours drive to Austin, I know, but it is absolutely worth! Which city is your favorite? What is special about it?

Austin, ich komme wieder! Bald! Im Februar, als Geburtstagsgeschenk! Austin ist die Hauptstadt von Texas. Bei meinem ersten Besuch dachte ich, ich bin irgendwo in Kalifornien, wirklich! Austin ist liberal und alternativ. Ich liebe es, einfach durch die Strassen zu laufen und die Leute, die Bars und die Restaurants anzuschauen, hauptsaechlich in der 1st Street und der S Congress Avenue. Mein Lieblings-Fruehstuecks-Restaurant ist das 24 Diner, sie haben die besten Frittatas. Wir mussten jedes Mal fast 1 Stunde warten, um einen Platz zu bekommen. Fuer Snacks und Drinks am Nachmittag oder Abendessen mag ich das South Congress Cafe. Sie haben "echten" Prosecco - ja, es ist nicht einfach Prosecco in Texas zu bekommen - und die Speisekarte enthaelt Gerichte mit Quinoa. Gewiss habe ich es nicht versaeumt, die kulturellen Highlights zu besuchen, wie das State Capitol und die Presidential Library. Die Fahrt dauert 4 Stunden nach Austin, ich weiss, aber es lohnt sich!
