The perfect Texas weekend trip: Big Bend Nationalpark

In my opinion the Big Bend Nationalpark is one of nicest parts of Texas. The long way it is worth because the land is so beautiful there!

Meiner Meinung nach ist der Big Bend Nationalpark einer der schoensten Flecken von Texas. Der Weg dahin - selbst wenn man in Texas wohnt - ist sehr lang, aber er lohnt sich, denn das Land ist wunderschoen dort!

We combined the tour with the area around Marfa (see my post link here) and Terlingua Ghost Town (see my post link here).

The Big Bend is the biggest Nationalpark in the US, and the Rio Grande makes up a big part of the border USA to Mexico.

Der Big Bend ist der groesste Nationalpark in den USA und der Rio Grande bildet einen Grossteil der Grenze zwischen USA und Mexico.

We decided to make the scenic drive by car. Some other activities were possible, like hiking, biking, lodging, and Rio Grande rafting.

Wir entschieden uns, die Panoramastrasse mit dem Auto zu fahren. Es gab natuerlich viele andere Aktivitaeten wie, Wandern, Radfahren, sogar Uebernachtungen, und Rio Grande Rafting. 

Luckily we didn't run across any bears or mountain lions

The Rio Grand River is part of the border to Mexico

I recommend the Big Bend Nationalpark and the area West Texas to everybody who likes beautiful nature and loneliness (at least for a couple of days;).

Ich empfehle den Big Bend Nationalpark und die Gegend West Texas jeden, der spektakulaer schoene Natur und Einsamkeit mag (zumindest fuer ein paar Tage;).
