Guadeloupe is an french island group in the Caribbean. The main islands are Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre, separated through a small strait. It is hilly, with beaches, sugar cane fields, waterfalls, and a volcano.

Guadeloupe ist eine franzoesische Inselgruppe in der Karibik. Die Hauptinseln heissen Basse Terre und Grande-Terre. Die Inseln sind huegelig, mit Straenden, Zuckerrohrfeldern, Wasserfaellen und einem Vulkan.

We went to Guadeloupe in February for 4 days, just for relaxing and feeling the French culture.

Wir waren im Februar fuer 4 Tage auf Guadeloupe, nur zum Entspannen und um die Franzoesische Kultur zu fuehlen.

After we went to Saint Martin, a 50 minute flight distance, also for 4 days. Saint Martin is an island of 2 countries, French and Netherlands (named Sint Maarten). We knew, the island is still recovering from Hurricane Irma, but we wanted to go a second time.

Anschiessend flogen wir fuer 4 Tage nach Saint Martin, 50 Minuten mit dem Flugzeug entfernt. Saint Martin umfasst 2 Laender, Frankreich und die Niederlanden (genannt Sint Maarten). Wir wussten, die Insel ist nach dem Hurrikan Irma immer noch im Wiederaufbau, aber wir wollten dennoch ein weiteres Mal dort hin.

The beaches were dreamlike, our hotel was rebuilt, and we had again a very good time. Of course, there is a lot destroyed, a lot to rebuild.

Die Straende waren traumhaft, unser Hotel war zum Grossteil wiederaufgebaut, und wir hatten wieder eine sehr gute Zeit hier. Natuerlich, es ist viel zerstoert, es muss viel wiederaufgebaut werden.

I could not look away from such turquoise colored water!

Ich konnte mich nicht satt sehen von diesem tuerkisfarbenen Wasser!

I really hope the island get soon enough money and manpower to rebuild it. I want to go back to Saint Martin!

Ich hoffe sehr, die Insel bekommt bald das notwendige Geld und die Arbeitskraefte um die Insel wieder aufzubauen. Ich moechte zurueck kommen nach Saint Martin!
